World's largest 3D maze

It’s neither a rope park nor a treetop walk – the 3D maze sits somewhere in between. We’ve built many of them, but Funpark Most remains the largest. What makes it truly special is that it’s not just a maze, but a full-scale adventure park with a viewing tower, seating areas, children’s playgrounds, and visitor facilities.

Brief

A large green space in the heart of Most, Šibeník Hill and its surrounding park offer plenty of room – but until recently, not much to do. The city wanted to change that – and asked us to design a 3D maze with a lookout tower and a children's playground.

Solution

We designed a modern municipal adventure park for all ages – including attractions and facilities. Together with the investor, we chose a location with easy access via existing paved paths. We carefully shaped the layout to minimise tree felling, building the maze around several mature trees.

3D maze

We developed the 3D maze concept in 2017. It's made of elevated walkways attached to poles or trees, with a range of obstacles spread across several levels. Enclosed in safety nets on all sides, visitors can explore freely and safely – even metres above the ground. The structure in Most is the largest 3D maze we’ve built to date – with three levels, 14 poles, and 25 obstacles.

Its footprint forms three interconnected polygons. The entrance and exit stairs cleverly hide ticket sales and restroom facilities. Between them, we added a hexagonal wooden platform with shaded seating.

Lookout tower and other

Next to the maze stands a viewing tower built from laminated timber beams and a steel staircase. Its slanted top encourages visitors to take in the view of the city centre.

The funpark also includes play elements for younger children and a mini-maze-like playground with rope bridges and a wooden hut. Everything is linked by gravel paths and wooden walkways – which double as seating.

Funpark Most is our largest project to date – and there’s room for more. We’ve already designed an extension with a net-based attraction connected to the maze.

The lookout tower is brilliant – great views of Hněvín and the Most area. I didn’t try the maze myself, but our kids (8 and 11) loved it. We could barely get them to leave! A fantastic stop on our walk through the city.
