Play sculptures are among the most innovative elements in modern children’s playgrounds. We have several well-developed concepts ready in our archive - some were designed for clients who later changed their plans, others simply for our own creative joy. Our architects carefully considered materials, structural solutions, the play value and safety standards. These aren’t just pictures; they are fully buildable concepts created by experienced designers. And they could elevate your playground, too. All the play sculpture concepts below are available free of charge, with no need to commission an architectural study.

Duck in the sandpit
_3x2.webp)
A play sculpture inspired by the classic inflatable duck ring — complete with sunglasses for extra character. Inside the full perimeter runs a crawl-through tunnel leading up to the head, which doubles as a viewing point. Children can even open and close the beak using a simple mechanism. The duck also includes a slide, rope ladder, climbing grips and a sandpit. Perfect for swimming pools, beaches, aquaparks or any themed playground.
Manta ray for community spaces

Some animals appear in playgrounds often; others hardly at all. The giant manta ray belongs to the second group — which makes it a wonderfully original centrepiece for a playground or a community spot. Its large fins are shaped for seating and relaxation, making it an inviting place to meet. Inside the body, children can slide towards the head, where two viewing points replace the eyes. Ideal for zoos, nature museums, marine worlds or communal parks.
The sweetest playground
_3x2.webp)
Let children enjoy as much sweetness as they like - this cake won’t harm their teeth. Instead, it encourages movement: climbing, scrambling and discovering hidden corners. The three-tier cake sculpture stands 3.5 metres tall and offers an upper lookout level. There are no stairs: children climb up through ropes and nets inside the cake. Climbing holds on the exterior lead to round openings into the second tier. The wavy bench and the soft landing surface around the sculpture evoke a cake on a plate. If needed, the set can be expanded with more “sweet” features - a muffin hideout, a plate as a tilting platform, a cake-slice slide. Perfect for towns known for food or confectionery traditions.
Giraffe in the net
_3x2.webp)
A client requested a giraffe play sculpture - challenging under the standards, but our architects found a solution. The giraffe stands at the centre of a net attraction offering jumping, rolling and ball play. Entry is via a “pick-up sticks” set of poles. For small children (and for photos), a seated giraffe is placed on the ground. The support columns for the net hide a clever marble run ending in a mini trampoline for the marbles. The sculpture is 5.5 metres tall and occupies approx. 12 × 6 metres. Ideal for zoos but suitable for any playground.
Natural stag play sculpture

A play sculpture can also be built without steel. This stag design uses a timber structural frame and natural robinia cladding without paint. It comes in two versions: a full stag with its head lowered, hiding a slide accessible through the body and a climbing net or ladder, and a head-only version emerging from the ground with an open mouth leading into antlers made of timber and ropes, creating a unique climbing feature. The full version is 5.5 metres tall, while the head-only version measures 3.2 metres. Its natural look and woodland theme make it perfect for forest playgrounds or any green space.
