Rope and ferrata training center
Are you planning to go to ferratas? Would you like to test them in real conditions, current weather, wind and temperature? We designed an outdoor ferrata trainer for a Slovak investor. Visitors can train their skills and dexterity there, as well as get over some of the Tatra peaks.
The rope and ferrata training center was designed for a specific location at 2000 m above sea level, which is the starting point for Via ferrata. For the attraction, our client delimited a covered space under the peak station building of the cable car. Steel columns, which are exposed to the mountain weather, were intended to fulfil the function of supporting construction.
We designed the training center as a circuit with self-belaying, similar to the real ferrata. When creating the obstacles, we emphasized sufficient difficulty, originality and overall attractiveness: the entrance is formed by a massive concrete column with classic climbing holds (Boulder), which get visitors up to the height of entrance platform. From there they continue through the different obstacles like Chain Bridge, Chasm, Ridge, Stones, Manhole, Bridge and Ferrata to the Descent Ladder.
The mountain environment inspired us to the original artistic concept and graphic design of the attraction. In addition to the stylized animals encountered on obstacles, climbers can also conquer significant peaks of the Tatras with their particular altitudes.
The center is designed for a wide group of users, but the main target group are families with older children. Due to its character and outdoor location, the center could very well simulate real conditions in which climbers could then get on Via ferrata in the vicinity.
